Compliance Matters

It probably isn’t a surprise to you that landline phones are essentially going extinct. In a recent study from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, it was found that less than 40% of U.S. adults live in households that have landlines. To give a little comparison, in 2004, more than 90% of U.S. adults said that their household did have a landline.

Due to unclear and outdated regulations, this transition to contacting mobile phones has created new learning curves and challenges for many businesses, but especially the ARM industry. Compliance is more important than ever and it matters.

What does it mean to be compliant in the ARM industry?

It means that collection agencies, call centers, online lenders, etc. must follow the state and federal laws regarding calling. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) outline these regulations clearly in order to make sure that businesses are doing the right thing.

What does it mean to be compliant with DirectDrop Voicemail?

One way we protect the interests of all of our clients is that we choose to work only with responsible businesses that comply with TCPA and FDCPA regulations. All of our clients have an existing relationship or a need to communicate with the consumer. We don’t work with telemarketers or other users that could make our technology into a nuisance for consumers.

We make sure that we are always staying on top of new rules and regulations. Here’s what you need to know about our compliance procedures:

  1. We have backed the financial services industry since our inception in 2010. We are members of the ACA and RMA and diamond sponsors of top industry events. We back the OLA, CUNA, and other trade organizations that fight for the advancement of our industries. We have built our business and our technology to serve this sector. We work with the groups to develop our software using industry feedback and feature requests, and join them in advocating for technology advances for the industry.
  2. We’re the only company in the U.S. that offers DirectDrop Voicemail and backs our service with a Master Service Agreement that gives our clients the confidence to contact their consumers with consideration to drive business results.
  3. Our consumer-friendly service has helped consumers avoid millions of unexpected calls, empowering them to resolve their business on their terms.
  4. We consistently add features to help our clients abide by federal, state and local regulations.
